Early morning (about 6AM) departure from your hotel in Eilat. Pickup at all major hotels in Eilat. Enter The Kingdom of Jordan at the Arava crossing, where visa and other arrangements are taken care of. Drive through the desert terrain, known in the Bible as the land of Moab. Arrive to Petra: "The Red Rose City - half as old as time." Walk, or go by horseback through the narrow canyon that leads to the Red Rock. There you'll see scores of imposing monuments, including the Khazneh (treasury), the Roman theatre and many other ancient buildings, all carved into the pink mountains. During the walk through Petra you will have a break for lunch, giving you a chance to relax a bit before we continue our journey. After an extensive tour of Petra, return to Eilat by way of Aqaba, the sea-side Jordanian town, that touchs Eilat - seperated only by a man made border. Return to Eilat in the early evening.
